The world has changed so much over the last few decades. We’re connected now more than ever, at least on the surface level. The Connection can be invaluable or it can be crippling, it all depends on how you leverage it. Are you using it as a tool to express your raw self and exchange ideas, or are you letting it consume you?
The Connection is a drug. It alters the way you think, the way you feel, and how you perceive reality. Drugs can be valuable, but they can also be addicting – are you a recreational user or an addict? Constant exposure to a drug leads to a build-up in tolerance, a numbing of the novel sensations, and a dependency on the drug to feel normal.
By default, The Connection has no off switch – you’ve got to create one. How do you separate yourself from the endless stream of content, how often are you taking a tolerance break, how do you limit the negative influences that The Connection brings with it?

The Connection has the ability to provide insight, spark inspiration, and foster relationships. If you abuse The Connection, you’re going to miss out on all of that – you’ll end up scrolling through the feed like a zombie – how is that going to improve your life or make you a better person? It’s not.
If you’re not careful, The Connection will stand in the way of your development and your ambitions. It will hinder your ability to get things done and it will make you reactive. Don’t let the objective become the creation of a false image that appeases others, use The Connection to create yourself.
